The emerald cut diamond is a classic cut devised in the 1930's so has Art Deco appeal. A step cut design so doesn't have fire and sparkle of say a brilliant cut but the interplay of light from the step facets and the mirroring effect from the large table (top facet) causes dramatic flashes so is very desirable.
Due to its large table inclusions will be easier to see so a higher clarity diamond (VS+) would be best. Colour is always important so G/H colour minimum. Particular attention should be paid to the ratios (Length x Width) of emerald cut diamonds; 1.40 to 1.50 is ideal but some will like a slightly squarer 1.30 or rectangular 1.60 appearance. Anything outside these measurements would be below Bespoke Diamonds accepted tolerances and we would advise going for a Asscher cut (square) of Baguette Cut (rectangular).
